Use it openly

Recording needs consent.

Pouchette does not add a meeting bot. That is not a loophole around consent—it is a reason to be clearer about it.

Ask when you would want to be asked

Tell people before you record whenever that is expected by the people involved, your workplace policy, a contract, or the law where you are. A local recording can still affect someone else’s privacy.

Different places have different recording-consent rules. Some require every participant’s consent; workplace policies and confidentiality agreements can be stricter. Do not assume a rule that applied in one call applies everywhere.

Pouchette’s role

Pouchette captures locally and gives you control over the files. It does not decide whether a recording is appropriate, notify participants on your behalf, or make legal judgments about consent.

If you choose a cloud notes engine or export, consider the additional data-processing obligations that choice creates for your participants and organization.

A practical check before you press record

  • Is recording allowed by your workplace, client agreement, classroom, or event?
  • Have the people involved been told in a way they can understand?
  • Are you using a local engine, or have you explained the selected external provider?
  • Would you be comfortable if the same recording practice were used with you?
